only children know what they are looking for | Seattle Area Portrait Photographer

The quotation above is from The Little Prince, which has been on my mind lately since a friend of mine, Doreen Kilfeather, who I met at the wallflowers retreat, posted a Little Prince quotation on her blog.  Check out her blog; she is ridiculously talented.

I think this precious little girl looks so pensive and wise in these images…  she seems to know exactly what she is looking for.

Oh.My.Goodness. She is so cute! These photos are fabulous! I’m sure they are going to love having them in years to come. Great job with these. You are so talented. I’m not meaning to imply that you have to edit your photos to make them great, I am meaning to say that you do a great subtle job editing to make them perfect (I don’t know how much you do or don’t) but they are so great.

good friends | Seattle Family Portrait Photographer

Look at this beautiful family!  I got to photograph these good friends of ours the day before we went away for a week–the same day as the quinceanera–and it was torture not being able to go through them and start post-processing right away.  We share lots of good memories, starting with Daddy G and me becoming friends while on staff at a summer camp when I was 15 and then reconnecting years later when we were each engaged and then newly married.  We’ve traveled around Italy with them, and the guys have played dozens of golf games and biked many (MANY) miles together.   The husband/dad is a jungle gym to our children… He does all sorts of fun and high-energy things with them…usually right before bedtime. :)  They are a special family and so smitten with their adorable little guy!

Friday Harbor

We spent last week at Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands with a couple sets of friends… My posts were all scheduled; it was great to be able to stay caught up without doing any work during the week.  We rented a big house on the water and spent a lot of time lounging with games and books.  It was beautiful and relaxing!!  I have a few thousand images to go through, between a couple family sessions, a quinceanera, our trip, and a day in Poulsbo at the Island Lake reunion.  Stay tuned…

For now… This was the view from our backyard:
